This is an interesting and highly charged time in our lives with a pandemic, an election, and new ways of doing business, attending school, and going about life with restrictions. Who would have thought that our latest fashion fad would include stylish face masks?

Many of us have been hoping and praying for a vaccine for the Covid 19 virus or at the very least, remedies that would prevent more people from dying. I pray for that as well. But how many of us are lending our Power of words and thoughts to the solution? How often do we focus on the Good experiences that we’d like us all to have after a solution is found?

During this very unusual time, I’m called to Trust God and to Trust in the use of my Spiritual Practice for protection and to manifest my desired outcomes! We’re in the middle of a pandemic and there is a tremendous amount of fear and uncertainty across our globe. As part of self-quarantining and social distancing, we hunger for news about what is happening outside of our homes. The news channels are filled with reporters who speculate and have a variety of opinions, and each of our local, state and federal representatives have different views and enact different policies to work toward our safety. Many workers have been laid off and our children are out of school. It’s a very unsettling time. This is exactly the time to turn to God and use your spiritual muscle through your daily practice.

I want you to know that together, we can get through this pandemic and triumph. First, try to think about this pandemic just like you would one of the other challenges that you have had in life; a difficult boss or spouse, a lawsuit, a damaged relationship, lack of money, a lost job, a serious health diagnosis, etc. What have you done in the past when unexpected challenges have come up? Right, you increased your Spiritual Practice to declare that God is operating in the situation for your Good outcome. And, you also sent a tremendous amount of love and forgiveness to the person or situation that caused you harm or pain.

I grew up in a Catholic family and there was a part of every Sunday service where we would say “Peace be with you” to the other congregants sitting near us. They would say the same to us. I didn’t really understand a lot about the meaning of those words. To me, it was like saying “Hello, I hope that you’re doing well.”

That phrase came up recently and I started to think about the value of peace in our lives. I want you and everyone in our world to realize peace in their lives. It’s in that state of peace that we’re able to connect deeply to Spirit and be guided and directed to live in accordance with our desires and the divine plan for our lives. The idea of peace is wonderful, but I understand that many are not in a peaceful state. Many people are experiencing a tremendous amount of stress in their lives.

The Value of Intentions

I hope that you have been enjoying the lights and festivities of the Holiday Season! Now that 2019 is coming to a close it is the perfect time to look over your 2019 list of Intentions that you made at the beginning of the year to measure your accomplishments. I hope that everything on your list has manifested in remarkable, fulfilling, healthy, joyful and prosperous ways. If there are some things that you didn’t achieve or chose not to finish, bless them and let them go to make room for all that is new and wonderful in 2020. You can’t receive something new if you are filled up with regrets or self-criticism. Bless the past, let it go and make room to receive your desires.

Most likely, you’ve heard a number of stories about successful and famous people achieving great levels of wealth and freedom. Many of these people are consistent and disciplined in focusing on what they want to have happen in their lives, instead of believing that the past has any power and control over their future. They revisit their goals daily and look for possibilities to take steps toward their achievement, rather than dwelling on past mistakes made by themselves or others. Whether they are Olympic athletes, business millionaires, or spiritual teachers and leaders, they have a number of characteristics in common that they consistently demonstrate each day.

You can learn to cultivate some of these same characteristics to achieve more of your goals and experience greater freedom.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” -  Isaiah 55:11

It seems that as I grow in my spiritual understanding, I realize the truth in the bible verse above more clearly. I often prove the power of my words in ways that help me to achieve my goals. In my daily practice outlined in my books The Path to Wealth and The Gratitude Formula, I declare with gratitude my completed goals manifesting in my life and they often do or I receive something even better. Sometimes, I see evidence that I wasn’t careful enough in how I worded and declared my goals. The results haven’t always made me happy.

For example, I knew that my husband wanted to complete a scholastic endeavor that he’s been working on for several years.  I declared repeatedly; “I’m not booking any vacations or trips for us until you are finished with your project so that you won’t be distracted.” I started to proclaim this often beginning in February 2019. Time passed and several months later I booked a trip for us to go to a family reunion at the beginning of August and another trip that we purchased at an auction for mid-August.  My husband hadn’t completed his project yet and the day before our trip to the family reunion I had a freak accident and broke my arm.  I couldn’t go on either trip.

“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” - Leo Tolstoy, Russian Novelist

In addition to being a speaker and author, I am an investor, consultant, and mentor.  Patience has been a topic of interest this month in all areas of my work and life. A real estate deal filled with turbulence required patience to see the situation clearly and allow Spirit to provide helpful guidance to complete the transaction smoothly. During some of my consulting meetings, clients had “urgent matters” that came up and the clear spiritual answer was to take a deep breath and a Holy Pause as a demonstration of patience so that decisions could be made from a calm place with divine guidance. This may sound simple, but I know very well that it can sometimes be tough to demonstrate patience in our lives.

I love to help people to create the lives that they love. As I was reflecting on this I recognized that many times in my past I’ve failed in asking for help for myself. I don’t know how this pattern got started, but if I could do something myself, I would just do it rather than “impose” on someone else. On many occasions, after I completed a task alone, others would ask me “why didn’t you call me for help – I would have been happy to help you?”

In my mind, I had created a “story” that included the benefits of doing things myself; “I wouldn’t impose on others, I wouldn’t be disappointed if someone said NO, I didn’t have to look weak or incapable.”  How in the world did I learn to create those ideas?

As I analyzed this pattern more, I realized that I wasn’t the only person who felt this way. In looking deeper, I uncovered a fear about possible rejection and separation that many of us share.  Author Amanda Palmer, explains it this way; “From what I've seen, it isn't so much the act of asking that paralyzes us--it's what lies beneath: the fear of being vulnerable, the fear of rejection, the fear of looking needy or weak. The fear of being seen as a burdensome member of the community instead of a productive one. It points, fundamentally, to our separation from one another.”

Have you experienced this fear pattern too?
